Ipswich Motorway—Rocklea to Darra - Stage 1 (Granard Road to Oxley Road)
The eastern end of the Ipswich Motorway has been upgraded between Rocklea and Darra in a staged approach delivering value for money on one of Queensland's major motorways.
The department is undertaking planning for the remaining sections of the Ipswich Motorway between Rocklea and Darra.
In 2021, the department completed Stage 1 of the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade – Rocklea to Darra project and upgraded a 3km section of the Ipswich Motorway from Granard Road, Rocklea to just east of the Oxley Road Interchange, Oxley.
The staged upgrades of the remaining sections of the Ipswich Motorway aim to improve safety, capacity and journey reliability as well as active transport links across and along the motorway.
Stage 2 involves upgrading the Oxley Road Interchange.
Stage 3 is the remaining section of motorway from Oxley Road Interchange, Oxley to Centenary Motorway, Darra.

Updated masterplan for Stages 2 and 3 and the business case for Stage 2 Oxley Road Interchange, are expected to be completed in mid-2024.
